In which I join the ranks of people who have had zombie dreams this year:

I dreamed I was in the midst of a zombie infestation, and a zombie woman reached over and bit my hand - I was hoping she didn't break the skin, but oh well, she did (a little). It was a very small cut, so the infection didn't spread rapidly, but eventually it overtook all the "normal" areas. I went home and [livejournal.com profile] rialian was there with a cigarette asking if he could smoke in the house because his father was too old to go out and smoke, and they wanted to smoke in the den (his dad is not old and doesn't smoke and I don't have a den). I surmised by this that [livejournal.com profile] rialian had been bitten too, because he normally doesn't smoke, so surely that was a sign of being a zombie.

The scene then morphed over to me being a jockey in a horserace. I have no idea where this came from since I am neither an avid fan of zombies nor horseracing, and I weigh too much to be a jockey (I'm not sure where I'm remembering this from, but I think 115-pounders and smaller are preferred). In the dream, I wondered how I happened to be a jockey, since I had no clue how to ride any horse, let alone a racehorse. Weird.

Well, obviously zombie racehorses would be able to carry jockeys that are larger without tiring. 'course, zombie racehorses would probably just shuffle along anyway. ;-)

Well, it's getting around time for the Mari Lwdd to make its rounds - that's not really a zombie though - just an equine skeleton... (it leads the spirits of the dead to their relatives' homes so they can come in and get some seasonal hospitality during the solstice when the veils are thin).

Now now, skeletons are just zombies suffering from insufficient embalming. Just like mummies are just dehyrated zombies. ;-)

LOL - great dream!

I used to pray that I would stay small enough to be a jockey when I was little. 115 is the absolute max, under 110 is preferred. Maybe you were trying to run away from the zombies, that makes sense.

Heh - I wasn't a zombie in the horse dream but I kept almost falling off the horse because I was so clueless about how to ride him. Anyway, I'd sure look like a zombie if I got that skinny even if I wasn't one...

Yeah no shit. You wouldn't believe the lengths these jocks have to go to keep their weights down. They are the male (and a few females) poster children of bulimia and anorexia. A jockey died not too long ago shortly after a race, his heart just gave out in the shower. Young guy too. I'm sure it was from starving himself. A lot of them get on drugs too, another jock "killed himself" (although the circumstances were suspicious and I believe later it turned into a murder investigation), after a long battle with drugs he had taken to keep his weight down. It's sad.

I haven't been able to remember my dreams recently. I guess I've been too tired or just not sleeping enough. I have had a couple of creepy unconscious astral projection experiences in the last week though, where I couldn't wake up or "get back in". *shudders* Those freak me out.

Shawn of the Dead taught me a lot. The most important thing is that a cricket bat is the most effective weapon against zombies ever. :)
