Last night we went to visit hasufin and celebrate aekiy's birthday. We watched Ghost in the Shell 2 Innocence -- it was packed with esoteric references and insights, beautiful visual effects, and realistic emotional interplay and interactions.. But there was one element glaringly absent..

Well, she sort of had to be missing to show continuity with the last installment... and part of the subplot of this one involved Batou looking for her always, even while (especially while?) occupied doing other assignments.

I guess this may have set things up for a possible GITS 3 when she assumes a physical body(ies?) of some sort again (and things get really confusing), but even then she won't look the same most of the time. So, well, wah. I want her back. I guess I'll stick with the Stand Alone Complex for right now...

Ghost in the Shell 2 was absolutely beautiful, and I especially loved it for its esoteric and pholosophical gems.

Apologies for not being able to make it, alot of things going on in preperation for new job and stuff. All our best to those celebrating birthdays.

It was very beautiful. I'll have to see it again - this time the English version by myself. While watching the Japanese version with English subtitles with the group was much fun, I do think seeing it again would fill in some gaps...

If ever you wish to come down for the day and hang out, just say the word. Mika and others may be coming by on Friday - Rialian will have more info on that. Sometimes we go to Chiar Oscuro (venue at The Edge in DC) on Saturdays. There are movie/anime nights at Lyssa's every other week - not sure of the day.
