We went to the Faerie festival at Spotwood Farm in Pennsylvania (http://www.fairiefestival.net/). We were sort of afraid of what we'd find - a lot of clunky people in wings pretending to be Tinkerbell or something. But it was a lot of fun. There were interesting vendors, and a lot of wonderfully arrayed people - I suspended any sort of preconception and just enjoyed the show. They were decked out in wings and gossamer, sparkles and glitter, and some of the darker variety in black lace and leather, all magnificent and scary faeries, wonderful artforms one and all... One in particular caught my eye. He had on thigh high boots and a pink spandex minithingy on his butt, hair dyed a multitude of yellows, oranges, blues, and greens. Upon his back were pasted white fuzzy "wings". Someone with him had on White tights with large pink dots on them. I was like, whoa. The PA Green party was there, sharing a booth with some wildlife rescue people. We stopped there and held their 6-foot boa. Next we visited the Mouse and Rat society where they had tame fancy mice. I asked [livejournal.com profile] rialian not to say, "Ooooh, SNAKE FOOD!!!" when we went into that booth.

I found a wonderful piece of artwork by Judy King, who sells her artwork from the Fortunate Occurrence website. Here's the piece I bought: http://www.rialian.com/judy10.jpg. (dead link to artist's page deleted)

We also found a booth selling keyrings that double as several different types of screwdriver (2 sizes of flathead, a phillips head, and a small pick). Unable to pass up such versatility, we got two... But the best thing we found was a collection of rather unusual bumper stickers:

"Earth is full. Go Home"
"Do I *look* like a people person??"
"Your proctologist called. They found your head."

but best of all, (and one that I may actually consider using on my car)...

"May the Forest Be With You".

How funny - I was there with a couple of friends today, too, and we completely managed not to run into you. Tsk, us.

Actually we went on Saturday. The funny thing is, when we arrived Saturday we saw someone who looked like you from a distance, and called your name to see if the person would turn around.. but she didn't, and then when we bot closer we saw it was someone else.
