Yes. I hesitated to say that since I'm one of those unfortunate people who doesn't have enough faith that there is an afterlife (I'm not proud of that, would not wish it on anyone, and it causes me pain, especially when thinking of my parents). I think there might be an afterlife, but I'm never sure. Still, I hope there is, and that he's happy.

I try to phrase it relatively openly; after-life can mean "afterlife" or simple in the meaning of "dead". If there is nothingness after death, that also means no pain.

As my grandma would say, "at least he's not suffering anymore."

My experience leads me to believe that there is an afterlife, but honestly there's only one way to know for certain, and i'm in no rush to find out.
