Ada Lovelace and Charles Babbage in an Alternate 19th century, wherein, "what actually happened was, Babbage and Lovelace successfully developed the computer in the mid 1830s (giving humanity the necessary technological advantage to repel the alien invasion of 1898) and used their combined powers to fight crime and have adventures. Although they did have a somewhat idiosyncratic view of what constitutes 'crime'."

The author was just messing around, but readers begged for more episodes (I can see why).

Episode 1 - Ada Lovelace - The Origin

Episode 2 - Lovelace and Babbage vs. The Economy, Part 1

Episode 3 - Lovelace and Babbage vs. The Economy, Part 2

This makes me so damn happy. Especially how, given the single alternate-history premise, there's so many real historical factoids in. I do hope the artist keeps doing these....

She just added a paragraph and a couple of drawings to the main page further introducing the characters. Of Ada she says:

"Let it merely be said that she had me from, “She’s Byron’s daughter and was raised by mathematicians so her volcanic passions wouldn’t SPIRAL OUT OF CONTROL!” Raised by mathematicians! Like Mowgli! But that was wolves. But anyways SHE CANNOT UNDERSTAND YOUR HUMAN WAYS!!

Would that be the Byron who was like a cross between Jimmy Hendrix and Che Guevara, had they both been principally famous for lots of really messed-up sex? Would that be Lord Byron who made his maiden speech at the House of Lords supporting the Luddites and inveighing against new technologies? Why yes. Yes it would. How awesome and crazy is that? Oh Ada, just take the kohlinar and win my geek heart forever. But will it be enough to purge your inherited Byronicity? Any good comic needs Angst.

What’s that you say? This doesn’t actually have much to do with the real Ada Lovelace? LALALALA I CAN’T HEAR YOU!"

I feel like I've known this author for years!
