http://www.treelore.com/treelore/archives/00000002.html is a web page containing some more information about birch.

This is the website where I found birch bark (good for tea and bread making).
The owner of this website is [livejournal.com profile] darkleaves, and http://www.treelore.com is one of his online store outlets.

Thanks!

How'd the bread come out?

Haven't tried it yet. I did receive the package! I have to go to the organic market and pick up some wheat and rye flour. Hope to get it made for a get-together around the end of the month. I'll let you know how it turned out.

You're welcome! but I don't exactly have a burgeoning readership... It would probably get more exposure on my [livejournal.com profile] helen99 journal, so I'll probably copy it over there. I'll have [livejournal.com profile] rialian taste some of the bread and tea, and if he likes them I'll ask him to put a plug on his LJ also (he has a rather large subscription list). He recently strained a back muscle, so the bark made into tea should help (salycilates).
