Alchemy is going down. Piffle. I had really hoped the new venue would work out. Unfortunately with the accoustics being so difficult there, a lot of people didn't go back and the finances didn't work out.

Not overly surprised. It was never the same ever since the building where Nation used to be was sold so they could put in the stadium-what-nobody-wanted (the people who preferred spending the money on schools and hospitals were high-pressured and overridden by the financial interests who wanted the stadium). Nation had an outdoor balcony and you could go out and get fresh air and dance with the illuminated DC skyline in the background.

Nation wasn't taken down with Eminent domain. The company that ran Nation, Primacy had a lease with the building owners. When the lease expired the owners didn't renew and choose to use the property for a commercial building, ala traxx.

That has been years coming honestly, even before the whole stadium, having worked a the club, we knew they wouldn't renew the lease with how profitable the other properties around that that were sold were.
