Unlike most nights, last night I had a dream I remembered. Instead of walking, I was bounding weightlessly forward in great, slow motion arcs, and I was Singing. It was beautiful, clear singing, the like of which I couldn't hope to reproduce while awake. The surroundings were not memorable, but the song was pure joy. Some of the high notes I reached don't even exist here I don't think, and could possibly rearrange atoms or Make Things. It reminded me of infinite fractals whose outer edges become tinier and more detailed, and each tiny offshoot of the fractal retains the shape of the whole (sort of like a hologram only different). At one point, I decided, why touch the ground at all... and elevated into flight. A flying dream! I flew for a bit, and then the dream faded into something else.

I have flying dreams so seldom, but when it happens, wow. I've never had a singing dream before. I hope I have more of those...

Yes...
From a writeup I did for another forum:
"The sound had the precise imprecision of a birdsong or a leaf..."

Here's another link to the same song - you can get two or three of them if you do a You-Tube search on "Il Vechio Lupo": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-swvhP_Blo

You Tube is great - I can spend hours on there searching for different songs that I can't find anywhere else...

I had to track down the artist, of course... It wasn't that hard to decipher the Italian on Lingalad's CD cover, since Graphica and Illustratice are very similar to English words.

She is Mariachiara Rossetti (I mentioned her a couple of posts back) http://www.mariachiararossetti.it.

Lingalad's English website is here - http://www.lingalad.it/inglese/menuing.htm

This particular song is on their DVD and also on the CD titled "Lo Spirito delle Foglie".

I want to learn more how to really sing like that - even if it's not vocal, there was a component of "living truly" that is possible now.

When you describe your song's high notes as being capable (possibly) of rearranging atoms or Making Things, are you describing a physical sound or something else?

There is something from my memories which I refer to as "Song" (as I can find no better metaphor) which I view as something which resonates on many more levels than physical sound. Vibrations of the spirit might begin to encompass it, literal music of the spheres perhaps... something which so far my corporeal mind and senses have made comparatively little progress in deepening my understanding of, let alone being able to describe in English. The World Dragon from Aloryan creation myth employed a form of it when making Alorya, as did some of those elves which worked with that dragon much later on, but I believe it is something much more universal than that. I believe such Song is the fundamental force which underlies everything. To me, what most people call "energy signatures" are the Songs of individuals, places, things, worlds... and are all fragments of a greater Song composed of all of them.

I'm not sure if that's what you're describing or not, but I thought it would be worth comparing notes.

Both, I think. This 'sound' would have permeated multiple levels.

> I believe such Song is the fundamental force which underlies everything.

Yes, that feels right. People also say something 'sings' when it is expressing closer to true...

*nods* One of the things I look for, even in music of this world, is a sort of resonance that goes beyond the purely physical and technically proficient. I've heard technically perfect, complex music played in a way that I can only describe as "soulless", and I've heard less than perfect music played with such soulfulness that I can scarcely describe. I believe that most musicians whose work is actually worth listening to have at least one song where they've truly put their soul into it, even if it was not a conscious act. But mostly I look for those who seem to consciously put that aspect into their music, people I think of and refer to as true bards. I believe that sort of work is a powerful step towards the type of Song I remember.

> Yes, that feels right. People also say something 'sings' when it is

Which could also be defined as bringing more of its levels into resonance with one another...

Definitely so. There's nothing more boring to me than a technically perfect, soulless presentation. For example, I remember an ice skating contest during the winter Olympics of 1995. The person who won the gold had actually made a bad mistake, and was crying at the end of her performance. However, she won the gold. She still looked miserable as she accepted the prize, because she had made the technical error and didn't think she deserved it. However, there was an intangible quality to her performance that the judges could not resist, and she got the prize. The silver medalist was technically perfect, but essentially soulless. She had tried so hard, poor thing, but her costume was unattractive and her performance lacked the special Quality (TM).

Oxana Baiul vs. Nancy Kerrigan, 1995.

The Song that is the Name of each person comes through strongly or weakly, depending upon the infinite variables in the person's life and the choices they make.

The first thing I thought of when I woke up, was 'treesinger'. So anyway...

Yes - me too... (please forgive the 1998 web design - For a number of reasons, I've decided to leave that page exactly as I put it up around then).

The singing there was definitely reaching into the other realms, and was not only physical. Then again, that whole realm may not have been purely physical. Some of the laws of physics didn't seem to be quite the same as they are here, at any rate, or the delineations between "solid" matter and energetic forms were not quite as strong.

I've read that portion of your website before. I particularly like the phrases "Song of your Name", as I sometimes view Songs/energy-signatures as expressions of someone's "True Name". I've been working more with naming magic lately, in part because of that connection. There seems to be surprisingly little written on the subject these days.

*nods* That seems to be the case on a number of worlds we remember, though at the same time things were also physical enough to allow for geology roughly similar to what we have here... rivers, oceans, mountains, valleys... the main deviations always seem to be atmospheric, celestial (suns and moons and such) and when we get to the level of plants and animals and most of all sentient beings and their psychology, culture, traditions, etc.

Mine were never that detailed, unfortunately. I remember aspects of a different existence, such as what I've already written here and elsewhere, but no details such as plants, animals, people, and social structures.

Nothing like an absolutely lovely dream to get us through. I'm glad you had that dream. Totally lovely. I think everyone has a flying dream from time to time. I had one where I was dancing in a forest meadow with the animals. There were deer, bears all kinds of them. It rocked.

Yes, I did like your dream. You have a way with plants and animals, and are probably the happiest when you can be with them and talk to them.

This is true. I love all of nature and enjoy being out among the wild things and the living plants and trees. I once had an old oak tree want me to hug him. I said oh what the hell and did. Then some of the others wanted one too so I hugged a few of them then had to explain to the rest that I couldn't hug them all.lol I didn't want any of them to feel left out you see. I do love animals and they are a lot smarter than most give them credit for. They love and accept us unconditionally and are there for us when we come home from work. I hate living in the city the woods give me much peace. I think you are a very perceptive person.lol Biggest hugs!

One day I was out at night with a friend exploring a park - the will-o-wisps are more active at night and we wanted to see their Dance. At one point, my friend wanted to go off by himself for a few minutes, and I was alone in the dark. At first I was afraid, but then I noticed a large tree near me. I sat under the tree and leaned against it, and I felt entirely protected and invisible -- I knew I was perfectly safe. Then I got the impression that the tree had adopted me. Ever since then, if I ever visited that park, I would also visit that particular tree who adopted me so very long ago... I haven't been to visit the tree since I lost my mom - it may do me some good to go back there soon.

Well you may wish to go visit your tree friend. He probably misses you. I plan to go visit mine. I miss them and they will help you to deal with everyday things and even some things like death loss. I would love to see them dance. Totally cool!
