There's this feeling that I get when I find others like me...

I've heard it called "the warming" but it's sort of a little more than that... There's shimmering involved too, in addition to a warming. A warm, luminous shimmering. Limmering?

It would be unrealistic to walk up to every such entity and say "I love you" (especially if you don't know them at all!)... But maybe they could handle "Pardon me, but you are a noteworthy source of Limmering in my presence"... Then again, maybe that would be considered a little strange...

Limmering? *chuckles* Well, at least it's not "the Quickening" I suppose.

*smiles* What a wonderful idea! There may be a few strange looks involved but it just may well be worth it.

My day wouldn't be complete without a few strange looks...

Ooh, I love it when that happens!

But keep in mind that they probably attract weirdos, and a clear-eyed look and a smile of recognition would be much less...disturbing.

And besides, they can hear you anyway...

come to think of it

The Lyrin Limmers.

I'm sure it's a source of constant irritation to him, too.

Unfortunately, the word "limmering" has already been coined to describe a feeling of infatuation (Do a search on 'Limmerance' and you'll see what I mean.) Though I'm sure there's a lot of overlap, I'm trying to describe something slightly different.

Yeah, I know the sort of feeling you mean, and I've wondered the same thing as well. Sometimes it's sort of implied, especially after our conversation plunges off the deep end in terms of cultural normality.

Otherwise, I tell them "you amuse me earthling - you'll be spared in the invasion". ;)

I tend to call it "spark", whatever it is.

Locally, it seems to be most often referred to as "The Fascination"...and its what I refer to it as.
Two kin run into one another...and next thing you know, one or both cant help but be totally drawn to the other..completely facinated by the other's presense.
Ive actually sorta been studying it since for me, with the opposite gender Kin, I tended to develop serious attraction to them..and it used to be very problematic until I realized it was a side effect of The Fascination. Only one ever became an actual Mate, but several of the others turned into damned near obsessive crushes where eventually, the crushes turned aside and vanished upon learning the other was actually Awakened Kin.
After that, they all sorta became Family lol.

With Same Gender Kin, the fascination was not sexually oriented, more like what it became with the guys, eventually, but from the start. I think it was more a Recognition of Familiarity with each other that drew us all into becoming good friends..or at least very much Aware when one of us was nearby.
(there are still at least two around that, I know them, know they are Awake and and even their Nature, but, for reasons of a social kind, just never tended to become close.)

And lastly, I do tend to think that those Kin who are bisexual tend to have similiar problems of Attraction with both genders. I dont happen to be bi myself, but have been approached by other Kin who are, who did mention a bit of a crush on me being part of the factor in approaching me in the first place.

It's not an "i love you", or even an "I lust for you" - it's more of an "I've taken a shine to you", but meant more literally than usual...

"I've taken a Shining to you..." ;) (Sorry, evil sense of humor right now.)

Actually yes... Or even, "I shine you" (though that sounds sort of very wrong...)

familiar feeling.

I tend to try and explain it as "having a totally nonsexual crush on" someone.

...but can be intense in some cases (like more intense than anything sexual). It's sort of difficult to feel anything sexual when one is being electrocuted...
