Pretty good movie. The genre was Western/Horror... I found the Settlers way more horrifying than the creatures, though. I've always avoided Westerns, mostly for that reason (the settlers with their alien attitudes and religious fervor terrify me).

I was all for the Creatures and the Shawnee the whole time. The Faerie was cool too. And that one loner who knew the Native language.

Funny thing was, the strange aura of the creature-infested wood kind of hung around my house long after the movie was over and guests had left and everyone was asleep (I wasn't). Then around 3 in the morning, maybe 4, [livejournal.com profile] rialian, who was fast asleep, suddenly started wrestling vigorously with something and hissing loudly at it. During the day, the only time I've ever heard him actually hiss (and only momentarily) is if we're passing by an area that used to be a beautiful forest but has now become a blighted, paved, crowded slag heap of a development.

I was severely spooked and yelped, asking what was wrong, but he didn't hear me. Then he spoke something in his sleep language that sounded like he'd dispatched whatever it was. The tone sounded bored and disgusted, sort of like "children these days". He remembered nothing in the morning. I wonder what the hell that was. I really wish we remembered our dreams better.
