Typing with two hands
Jul. 1st, 2009 02:26 pmToday's work memo:
"In an effort to better $_workplace’s goals of increased collaboration, public outreach, and openness, the IT office has opened workplace access to several public social networking Web sites, including Facebook, Flickr, Myspace, Twitter, YouTube, and Vimeo. Access to these sites will enhance openness and transparency in our government operations and provide new avenues for idea sharing."
The odd mix of leftover Bushian secrecy and Obamian open communication feels so unreal. I guess as time progresses, more of the policies of the past 8 years will disappear. I hope the reasons for the policies disappear as well. I wouldn't want their act of good faith to be rewarded with viruses and attacks. Sadly noting the absence of Dreamwidth, but it's a start.
And that last paragraph was typed with two hands. I'm up to about 50 wpm, two-handed. I start physical therapy tomorrow. Goal - get this sucker stronger than it was before the break.
