helen99: A windswept tree against a starlit sky (Default)
She is Jorane, who hails from the Great Pointy-Eared North (Quebecoise). http://www.jorane.com/

Listening now to her CD called "The You and The Now". Her first song on that CD, "Stay", and also the second song Film III (especially the second song) are the kind of thing that bring tears to the eyes if you've ever imagined what "elves singing" might sound like - since, well, that's what it sounds like.

Somehow, though, those were the only songs on the CD that I really liked. The rest sounded a little bit musacky, as if she was trying to fulfil a formula and fill space. But the first 2 make that only slightly disappointing (and didn't deter me from nabbing the CD with money I didn't have...)

My opinion is that if you have some sort (any sort) of connection to the Great Pointy-Eared North, get that CD and plenty of tissues...

Edit: So ok. The third song is wonderful too. Just in a different way. Listening to the lyrics now.. Probably the rest grows on you (just like the wondrous lifeforms from Habitat, for anyone who's seen that movie.)...
