Tommy Lee of Motley Crue strips for PETA. "Ink not Mink".

No, I'm not making it up. No, I'm not overly fond of either Tommy Lee or PETA. No, they don't "show" anything on this website (I probably couldn't access it from work if they did).

But... Anyone who's willing to bare all for their cause has my, ahm, attention. Kind of like [livejournal.com profile] nude4peace

I was going to say "respect" but that would be going way too far. I fact, the concept of "respect" (regarding PETA and Tommy Lee) caused me to get the giggles. [livejournal.com profile] nude4peace is much more respectable...

Anyone who will rally for mink in terms of animal rights has obviously never met one in person before.

I see great gene-splicing potential here...

Fur

I find it interesting that he would take a stand against fur but not leather...

But yes, whatever the cause, I'm all for naked protests!

I think Tommy Lee mainly just got a big kick out of flashing PETA. Whatever PETA's cause du jour may have been the day he stripped, I'm sure he would have loudly proclaimed his support of it (fur, leather, whatever)...

Gawdz, Tommy Lee is *such* a dork. Sad thing is, he'd be quite hot if he wasn't such a *dork*.

The idea is that Fur tends to be a lot more cruel, insomuch as it's harvested from rather horrific farming and trapping practices. I doubt Tommy Lee knows that, though. I'm not even certain he's aware he's wearing pants in that photo.

Actually, he does, believe it or not. His ex-wife Pam Anderson gave him his book-learning on the horrors of the fur business. She put out a video that he could understand, which means even the average US citizen might understand it (or at least catch it by osmosis). This is useful, because in spite of my tendency to make fun of the lot of these people, the fur business is a completely unnecessary horror.
