Earth's Heart in a Cage

The version of the new testament that I read long ago says that one and only one crime will never be forgiven: blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

What the heck IS "blasphemy of the holy spirit", I wondered when I read it. Surely it's not some pickled old bum cursing god, country, and destiny.

I think I'm pretty sure I know what the answer is now. Control and domination of the Life Force, control of the Love that binds matter together, control of the planet's magnetic poles, grids, and heart, attempting to place the Earth's heart in a cage. Here are some good candidates:

Patenting and owning of genetic code;
Nuclear detonation (reversing of the strong force, which amounts to scattering love and consciousness);
Genetic engineering - creating life forms without love - amounts to rape and the creation of orcs;
Ownership of life forms, land, water, or air with intent to exploit;
Changing the planet's ice caps and weather patterns with intent to exploit;
Desecrating the earth's polar and equator regions with intent to exploit;

Different, yes -- but mixing various protiens (plant or animal) with other plants can cause a problem... Suppose, for example, that I am allergic to one substance, but not the other (Rialian is deadly allergic to all mollusks, and has a very bad reaction to soy products). Other's I've met have been allergic to other seafood as well. We're not sure what would happen if he ate something that had been altered with genetic material from an allergen.

Toxins are relative - one person's nourisyhment could be someone else's poison. Living with two highly allergic people and seeing what they go through to get a decent meal without soy or gluten is sort of an education. A few days ago we went to a vegetarian restaurant to eat with some friends. Rialian ended up having to eat Bread and Water (TM). Even the Polenta had soy in it (this was not genetic engineering, but the idea of mixing everything is what I"m getting at).

This would certainly be an improvement over what's going on now.

I guess large-scale is necessary to support a population of this size :( But most large-scale operations are monocultures, which allows pests to have a field day, depletes the soil, and isn't self-supporting. If farming could evolve more toward natural systems of complimentary plants, some of which are fertilizing and nitrogen-fixing, then that would be even better.

An excellent point and one that can be solved through a mixture of some fairly simple testing and (of course) labeling, some laws should definitely be passed requiring both.

Wrt large-scale farming, since large-scale corporate organic farming is well on its way to being the next big thing in food production, I'm guessing that the problems you describe are largely being taken care off. If nothing else, people know vast amounts more about natural pest management (via ladybugs and suchlike) than they used to.
