I love the way their responses are phrased. It's the whole "Well, the question of "do we believe in elves" is a complex one. The people here have very open minds with regard to the forces of nature and things beyond our perception, it's not like saying you believe in actual embodied fairies, it's more the continued appreciation of an unconscious concept, and a belief in continuing to revere our old traditions and broader scopes of perception..." phrased in a way that is recognizably tinged with the sharp edge of, "Yes, we do. We have seen them. They are here, listening to us. We will thank you not to draw attention to it."

A woman from either Ireland or Scotland was asked, "Really, you don't actually believe in fairies, now do you?"

She answered, "Sir, I do not. But they're out there, anyway!"
